Another specialty of the Grey River Lodge is access to some of the finest Atlantic Salmon in the world. The remote locations have helped maintain healthy stocks of wild sea-run salmon, offering fishermen a tremendous opportunity to make a memorable catch. Additionally, anglers are treated to luxury type lodges and a peaceful atmosphere that further enhances the quality of their experience.
Salmon fishing season on Grey River runs from mid-June to late August, with our peak period usually lying from opening day through late July. Most of our fish are grilse in the four to six pound range, but larger eight to twelve pound salmon have been steadily rising since the closure of commercial salmon fishing off our coasts.
We’ve been in business for over 18 years, and have seen guests of Grey River Lodge, including many novice anglers, achieve very high rates of angling success while pursuing the very elusive Atlantic Salmon. These bright and vibrant fighters are bound to thrill even the most seasoned flyfisher.
Some of the best flyfishing is available adjacent to the lodge, but for those who are more adventurous
and interested in doing some hiking, an unlimited number of excellent pools (many of them yet unnamed ) await either
up or down stream. Angling can be done by wading or simply standing on the rocky shoreline.

While regular flyfishing equipment and the standard salmon flies are recommended, it is the action on dry flies that has most excited anglers at Grey River. Additionally, flyfishing equipment is available for use at our lodges free of charge for those who do not own their own equipment or have not yet tried flyfishing.
Our lodge called "The Forks" accepts parties of up to eight anglers, while at our second lodge “Salmon Brook" ( tributary of the main Grey River ) limits groups to guests of four in order to better preserve the world class angling we demand in this smaller water. The standard trip is for five nights at the lodge with parts of six days fishing. Access is via helicopter directly to the lodge from the helicopter base located just a few minutes’ drive from the airport at Deer Lake, NL. It is possible to customize our packages to an individual's requests, but early booking will help greatly in this regard.
Our top-notch salmon fishing is unquestionable; however, others say the spectacular locations of our lodges is what sets us apart
from others. But the most frequent compliment from our guests is regarding our tremendous staff and their willingness to do whatever
it takes to ensure total satisfaction. To learn more about our services, or to make a reservation, please contact us. Also, check our
